Ear & Balance – Conditions & Treatment

Ear & Balance – Condition & Treatment

Ear infection symptoms are common. There are five main symptoms which include otalgia (ear pain), otorrhea (ear discharge), hearing loss, tinnitus (ringing) and dizziness. The ear is not just an organ for hearing  It is also connected to the balance system. This is a complex system; sending signals to the brain to maintain the balance of the head and body in different movements and positions. This system is complex and interlinks with the cerebellum and visual pathways to maintain linear and angular motion.

Ear is also connected to the Nose and throat through Eustachian tube so certain ear symptoms can be the result of problems in the Nose and Throat.
